The East Baes
Working intimately within the community, year after year could feel the gap of authentic connection growing. Witnessing a thirst for wanting to know more about what is impacting us & how to intervene, successfully.
This supportive cooperative aims to get us together; unified. In many realms.
Definition of the East Baes:
1) intersectional baddies who want fun, relaxation, sports, events, travel, social times, expansion on the mind, & activism. An intentional safe space for all womxn
2) a real one, a Beast Bae, not afraid of speaking up
Why womxn? Women is old English for “wife of man/owned by man,” & we are not about a word with so much toxic energy. Feminist have been adjusting the word for decades, as a flag, to ensure people who get it; get it, & those who don’t; question it. Perhaps maybe ask why & discover something about the word & womxn’s treatment through out the past.
(Note: Other variations are womin, womn or womyn. Female: femyle, femxle, or femle. Flagging it is much in the same energy as Latinx or Latine.
Furthermore: womXn, big X, is TERF territory. We are not about that life. There have been studies, debunking the grossly inaccurate myth that Lesbians are Transphobes. Heteronormativity & misogyny are dangerous. If you have a general distain for the Trans community, this is not the place for you. If you do not know much about our community, & you would like to learn, then you are welcome to join.
What do the colors stand for:
Periwinkle Pink: bright & bold, playful teasing about the feminine “submissive” stereotype of girl-is-pink.
Periwinkle Blue/Amethyst Blue: gentle & beautiful color, playful teasing about the masculine “strong” stereotype of the boy-is-blue.
Black: Firm, bold, & strong. Black is a shout out to the Black Panthers.
Seafoam Green: from oceans to trees, we believe in Eco Rights & protecting our planet, our home.
Pink & blue: playing with gender norms & are Trans colors.
Black: the Black Panthers & exposing fascism.
Green: a reminder of our home we share, sea & plants.
